Exotic parquet
 Parquet made of exotic
wood has various and original colors, unique rings and big dimensions of its
elements. Unknown so far kinds of parquets, like for example Doussie, Iroko,
Merbau or Teak, but also Badi, Kempas, Ipe, Jatoba or Socupira are more and
more popular on Polish floors.
Exotic parquets have following dimensions:
- 15, 18 mm thick
- 90 mm wide
- 350 - 1200 mm long
Examples of exotic parquets:
Description of exotic parquets types.
Kempas
This is exotic wood which has reddish shade, the floor made of kempas actually
has not visible rings. Kempas is about 15% harder than oak, and its density is
equal to 810kg/m3; volumetric contraction ratio is comparable to ash wood: 13,5.
Jatoba
This kind of wood has red, amber and bronze color, its rings are barely visible.
Density of this kind of wood is relatively high: 955kg/m3 (about 25% more than
in case of oak), its beautiful color with its stability (volumetric contraction
ratio: 11,7%) and its resistance to grindability make it very attractive floor
product. What is interesting - this wood is the most willingly used in USA so
this country imports the most of jatoba.
Ipe - Lapacho
Dark-olive-maroon even black color, rings visible here and there. Ipe is one
of the havyiest, so one of the hardest tree in the whole world (about 60% harder
han oak), its density is equal to 1100kg/m3 and volumetric contraction ratio:
12,5%. This wood contains a lot of oily substances and that’s why is very
resistant to weather conditions and is used in usable interior rooms and also
outside. Its resistance makes it recommended to be laid in bathroom or in kitchen.
Merbau
Light-brown to dark-brown color, rather visible rings. This kind of wood has
light-yellowish with shade which gives interesting and original esthetic effect
on the floor. Its density is equal to 900kg/m3 (about 25% higher than in case
of oak), contraction ratio: 9,0%. It’s one more hard kind of wood recommended
to be used in bathroom and kitchen.
Iroko, Kambala
Yellow-brown to dark brown color, interesting structure of this wood is rather
visible. It is often used as instead of teak wood because of similar color and
very high biological resistance. Density: 650kg/m3, similar to oak wood, volumetric
contraction ratio only 9%. This kind of wood is used as construction element
of ships, inside and outside floors, chemical products containers are also often
made of Iroko.
Guatambu
Light beige and yellow rings are very visible. Structure has shape of a cross.
It is one of rare light exotic species imported into our market. Wood has density
similar to oak: 710kg/m3, but volumetric contraction ratio is rather high: 16%.
Many poducers from Western Europe produce special preparations for maintenance
and laying of this wood – so called „difficult” as far as its
work during its usage is concerned; these preparations make us sure that our
floor made of Guamtambu is stable, clear and beauriful.
Teak
Colorful: from yellow to dark brown. This famous teak wood, used in ship construction
is nowodays also used in exclusive sailing boats but also in production of garden
furniture and floors. It’s perfect for damp rooms, like bathroom, kitchen,
swimming pool or sauna. Density similar to oak: 700 kg / m3
Badi
Very sunny, warm colors, from yellow, oragne to red, on its surface sparkling
braids are visible. Badi density is equal to 760 kg / m3 (about 10 % harder than
oak). Perfect kind of wood for floor production.
